Ariana Grande Fangirls Over Twitter Exchange With Jim Carrey

By Audacy

After a record-breaking year in pop music history, Ariana Grande received the Twitter mention that, in her mind, is the cherry on top, thanks to Jim Carrey.

Grande has not hidden her love for the “Yes Man” actor and has even revealed that she’s turned to his words when she struggles with mental health issues.

She took to her Instagram story recently to share some wisdom from Carrey himself. It reads, “Depression is your body saying, ‘I don’t want to be this character anymore. I don’t want to hold up this avatar that you’ve created in the world. It’s too much for me.”

The quote continues, “You should think of the word ‘depressed’ as ‘deep rest.’ Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character that you’ve been trying to play.”

Ringing true for Grande, she opened up about her love for Carrey and even admitted in a later Instagram story post that her first AIM username was “jimcarreyfan42.”

Carrey, having seen the post, tweeted at Grande to express his gratitude and admiration. The songstress could hardly contain herself

About five minutes later, the “Sweetener” singer gathered her thoughts for a longer reply.

As one of our favorite keyboard warriors, it’s only fitting that Grande continued to revel in the acknowledgment from Carrey with a third tweet – an homage to her long-lost AIM screen name.
