‘Riverdale’ Will Honor ‘Fallen Friend’ Luke Perry in Season 4 Premiere

Luke Perry is getting a proper tribute on "Riverdale."

The show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, took to Twitter to reveal the series’ upcoming Season 4 premiere will honor the late actor, who passed away in March after suffering a massive stroke.

"Probably the most important episode of #Riverdale we'll do this year, if not ever," Aguirre-Sacasa captioned an image of the episode’s script. "A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke and Fred."

The episode is titled “In Memoriam.”

Perry’s final scene as Fred Andrews, Archie’s father, in the CW’s adaptation of the Archie comics aired on April 24th.

Since then, his character was said to be away away on business and did not appear in the last three episodes of season three.

After Perry’s untimely passing, Aguirre-Sacasa disclosed that the writing staff wanted to take their time to make sure they gave the late actor a proper tribute.

“We didn’t want to rush into that at the end of the season and give it short shrift or not make that story as great and emotional as it needs to be to honor both the character and the actor,” he told EW.

The upcoming "Beverly Hills 90210" reboot entitled "BH90210" will also pay tribute to Perry, who originated the iconic role of Dylan McKay on the ’90 series, when it airs in August.

Get the tissues ready, because the Season 4 premiere of "Riverdale" is set for Wednesday, October 9th at 8pm on The CW.
