Sophie Turner Reacts to THAT 'Game of Thrones' Petition: 'It's Disrespectful'

After last week’s series finale of “Game of Thrones,” fans were divided between loving the final episodes and absolutely hating them. One particularly angry fan even starting a petition urging HBO to remake the entire final season of the series.

When the petition hit 1.3 million signatures and counting, it began to get the attention of show creators and stars of the show alike. But people on the inside probably won't be budging on the demands.

In an interview with the New York Times, Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner reveals that she finds the petition “disrespectful.”

“I think it’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting last season,” she says.

Turner adds, “So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it’s not what they want to see is just disrespectful.”

Despite the negative opinions of fans, the ending was satisfying for Turner, and she even feels it should have been expected considering the nature of the show. The show has always had “crazy twists and turns, right from Season 1.”

Sure, Daenerys becoming the Mad Queen was shocking and sad for fans, but so was Ned Stark's beheading at the beginning of the series. “It shouldn’t be such a negative thing for fans,” she says.

In response to Bran Stark becoming ruler of the six kingdoms at the end, Turner admits, “I suppose it was unexpected but it makes a lot of sense.” She continues by saying, "It feels like he would be an incredibly fair ruler."

On top of understanding the fate of her pals in the show, Turner admits that her own character's ending is one for the books. "I loved it," she says of Sansa's reign over Winterfell. "It’s what she’s been striving for this whole series: to go back home, to protect her home. And finally she has that."
